About

Entrepreneurs Roundtable meetings are “free” monthly gatherings of entrepreneurs and VC’s in New York City (soon coming to Boston, San Francisco and Istanbul). The goal of the events is helping startups and making them successful. At each event, there is a prominent VC/Investor as the featured speaker. The distinguished VC/Investor gives feedback and advise to the startups that present their companies in a highly-interactive setup.
The events started in 2007 and so far had an impressive array of speakers:
Fred Wilson – Union Square Ventures
Howard Morgan – First Round Capital
Danny Schultz – DFJ Gotham
Jim Robinson IV – RRE
Gil Beyda – Genacast Ventures
Larry Chaityn – Keiretsu Forum
Gary Whitehill and Jeevan Padivar – The Connectors Group
Albert Wenger – Union Square Ventures
Santo Politi – Spark Capital
Owen Davis – NYCSeed
Brad Feld – Foundry Group
Brad Hoover – General Catalyst
Each event starts with a brief presentation from the VC, followed by introductions from each entrepreneur and a Q&A session.
After this, 5 startups pitch their venture to the VCs in 5 minutes in front of the group, after which the VC gives a 5-minute feedback to the presenter. This invaluable feedback teaches the pitchers what they should do next and also it teaches the group of entrepreneurs what to expect and how to prepare for pitching to VCs.
